Budburst period: medium-late.
Ripening period: early.
Yield: average.
Ampelographic characters:
the bud has an open, cottony, white, slightly carminate apex. The leaf is medium-large with five lobes and an extended central lobe; the petiolar sinus is U-shaped, with tendentially closed and slightly overlapped edges. The cluster is medium-large, cylindrical and elongated, with a medium-sized rounded berry.
Cultural aptitude:
variety of average-high vigour and semi-upright growth habit. Little resistant to droughts and high temperatures. Susceptible to wind. It is important not to delay the harvest, because in the last maturity stages the accumulation of sugar is very fast.
Training system and pruning:
adaptable to short pruning and espalier systems.
Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:
little susceptible to botrytis, highly susceptible to mites and grapevine moth.
Enological potential:
it produces wines of great structure and medium-long persistence on the palate, with fruity, floral and terpene aromas. The high alcohol content, acidity and polyphenols make it suitable both for production of young wines and for wines intended for aging in barrels.
