Bud-burst period: early.
Ripening period: late.
Yield: high and constant.
Ampelographic characters:

the bud has a slightly expanded, cottony, whitish apex. The pentagonal, orbicular leaves have an open U-shaped petiolar sinus. The lower surface is slightly felted. In autumn, the leaves take on a red color, unlike the Raboso Veronese leaves, which turn yellow. The cluster is medium-sized, cylindrical-pyramidal and compact, with one or two wings. The berry is medium-sized and spheroidal. The thick, very pruinose skin has a slightly colored, acidic flesh.

Cultural aptitude:

vine of high vigour with a semi-upright growth habit. It prefers alluvial, deep or stony soils and cool temperate climates.

Training system and pruning:

it needs expanded training systems, but it can also adapt to Guyot, provided that careful green pruning is carried out.

Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:

susceptible to powdery mildew and spring frosts.

Enological potential:

it gives full-colored wines, with a high fixed acidity; tannic and full-bodied. With late harvesting, rounder wines with an intense morello cherry scent are obtained, that are ready to drink even after a short aging.

Clones in propagation:

Raboso Piave R11, VCR19, VCR20, VCR43, VCR232, VCR461, ISVV2.
