The welcoming spirit of VCR – Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo is centered around the two main pillars of our organization: the corporate headquarters, the heart of production activities, and the VCR Research Center, an area dedicated to research and development since 1965.

These two landmarks have fostered the development of the world’s largest grapevine nursery district. Approximately 100 km to the southeast is the Fossalon di Grado Scion Center, where in-depth visits to the company vineyards can be organized.

OUR EXCELLENCE

The welcoming spirit of VCR – Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo is centered around the two main pillars of our organization: the corporate headquarters, the heart of production activities, and the VCR Research Center, an area dedicated to research and development since 1965.

VCR RESEARCH CENTER

The VCR Research Center spans 20 hectares of experimental vineyards and is the ideal location for technical insights into grapevine genetic improvement.

The facility includes:

  • eight research laboratories dedicated to health quality, genetic analysis, and micropropagation;
  • systems for the digitization of vineyard and grapevine nursery management;
  • an experimental winery for oenological research activities.

Visits conclude in the tasting room, where it is possible to take a true ampelographic world tour by tasting clonal micro-vinifications of the varieties registered by VCR and cultivated across different continents, as well as the oenological expressions of new resistant varieties.

The over 30,000 m2 of the corporate headquarters house production and logistics activities, technical services, and administration.

Among the most characteristic elements:

  • the 20 rooted cutting sorting lines, where teams of specialized workers coordinated by VCR members operate during the months of November and December.

SCION CENTER

The 150 hectares of the Scion Center represent the ideal place to discover the agronomic vocation of different grapevine varieties and clones.

Here it is possible to observe:

  • the ampelographic and vegetative habit differences;
  • the various methods of agronomic vineyard management.
