Müller-Thurgau

A high-vigor variety characterized by robust woody shoots with a flattened cross-section and a nearly smooth, brownish surface. The apex is open and woolly, with a medium presence of anthocyanin pigmentation; the leaf is medium-sized, tri- or penta-lobed, with an overlapping U- or V-shaped petiolar sinus, and is dull green in color. The cluster is medium-small, approximately 15 cm long, cylindrical-pyramidal in shape, often winged and moderately compact; the berry is medium-sized and ellipsoidal, with thin, bloomy, greenish-yellow skin.

A high-vigor vine with robust, medium-length woody shoots; it is suitable for vigorous rootstocks. It prefers cool climates and soils that are not excessively loose.

The use of short pruning favors abundant and well-balanced yields; however, training systems such as Guyot and Trentino pergola are also widely adopted.

Slightly sensitive to Botrytis, therefore it is advisable to keep the cluster zone well-ventilated during the pre-harvest period; good tolerance to winter and spring frosts.

The resulting wine presents fruity notes, particularly peach. It is usually consumed young; more refined cultivations, such as those from South Tyrol, are also well-suited for aging. The good acidity of the grapes also allows for the production of sparkling wines characterized by a delicate aromaticity.
