Moscato di Terracina

Moscato di Terracina is a grape variety found only in Lazio, where it is used not only for winemaking but also as a table grape. It has an expanded, glabrous apex, green in color with bronze tips. The leaf is medium-sized, slightly longer than wide, five-lobed, with a narrow V-shaped petiolar sinus, sometimes closed; glabrous on both surfaces with prominent veins, yellowish-green in color. The cluster is rather large, cylindrical-conical, compact, winged (with 1 wing); the berry is slightly larger than medium, round, with a pruinose skin, thick but not very firm, golden yellow in color, darker on the side exposed to the sun; the pulp is slightly fleshy, quite juicy and sweet (very sweet in the more sparse clusters exposed to the sun), with a pleasant muscat aroma. A variety of good vigor and abundant production. Suitable for both direct consumption and winemaking, but not as a single variety. It produces wines with great aroma, ranging from ripe fruit to honey, with almond notes but also iodine hints due to the close proximity to the sea.
