Bud-burst period: everage.
Ripening period: everage.
Yield: average and constant, sometimes showing green millerandage
Ampelographic characters:
the bud shows an open, whitish-green apex. The pentagonal, five-lobed leaves have a slightly open petiolar sinus with a V-shaped base. The underside is wooly, and the cluster is medium-sized, elongated, pyramid-shaped and averagely sparse. It holds a small berry with an averagely pruinose, thick skin.
Cultural aptitude:
vine of average vigour, with an upright growth habit. It adapts to hilly terrains, even if they are not very fertile.
Training system and pruning:
well suited to Guyot with mixed pruning. Since it has a good basal fertility, the fruiting shoots can be short (5-7 buds).
Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:
normal.
Enological potential:
it gives intense ruby red wines with an excellent aromatic profile with hints of wild berries, plum and morello cherry. It is slightly spicy. Good structure and alcohol content.
Clones undergoing homologation procedure:
Ervi VCR17.
