Cococciola
Vine once widespread in some areas of Abruzzo, it has almost disappeared and replaced by vines easier to grow. It has a medium, cylindrical-conical, semi-compact cluster, large, round, yellow berries with thick skin and juicy, neutral and acidulous tasting pulp. This medium-vigorous vine variety adapts well to medium-expansion training systems and not too rich pruning. The relatively abundant yield and poor resistance to diseases have limited its cultivation. It is currently being re-evaluated, due to the quality of the product, which is rich in aromas and fixed acidity, key components in blending with other local grapes.
