Cesanese
Grown in the provinces of Frosinone and Rome, in the municipalities of Affile, Piglio and Olevano. The medium-small, winged, truncated-conical cluster holds a medium-small, spheroid, blue-black coloured berry with a quite thick, very pruinose skin and loose and simple-tasting pulp. This medium vigorous vine prefers not-too-expanded forms of training, but is very adaptable to different prunings, provided they are not too rich. It produces a deep ruby red wine, fragrant, full of character, velvety, quite tannic, full-bodied, alcoholic, and very pleasant. In blending it can improve other wines such as Sangiovese, Barbera, etc.
