the bud has an open pale green apex with carminate edges. The leaf is medium-large, pentagonal, five-lobed; the upper and lower lateral sinuses have slightly overlapping lobes. The petiolar sinus is open to very open. The upper side is hairless and medium-light green coloured; the lower side is hairless and of light-green colour. The cluster is large, conical, long, often winged. The berry is seedless, medium-large, ovoid, and elongated-ovoid in shape; the colour is pinkish-red.
Training system and pruning:
vigorous vine with upright growth habit; it prefers expanded training systems such as “tendone”, “pergola” and lyre. Green pruning and sucker removal are required.
Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:
variety with good resistance to downy mildew. Susceptible to phosphorous deficiency.
Overall rating:
very interesting seedless table grape variety for fresh consumption. It has a delicately intense aromatic taste. It has a low detachment rate and therefore it easily falls apart. Administering gibberellic acid, to induce the pedicel thickening, has had positive effects.
Clones in propagation:
Supernova Seedless VCR394.
