Aledo
Grown mainly in the province of Alicante and, originally, in the PDO Vinalopò. It has a late ripening period, a large, compact cluster, a large, long, elliptical, uniform berry of a homogeneous yellow-green colour, medium-pruinose and thick skin, evident navel, long seeds. It adapts well to the espalier training system. The cluster does not tolerate direct solar radiation, which can cause over-ripening on one side, while the berries remain unripe. For this and other reasons, in some areas it is harvested in the open field at the end of July.
