Tinta Francisca
Variety cultivated mainly in Douro (Portugal). It has a small, cylindrical-conical, moderately compact cluster and a medium, oval berry. This vigorous variety has an almost upright growth habit and an medium budburst period. The yield is low. It is highly susceptible to powdery mildew, but averagely susceptible to downy mildew. The ripening period is late. It produces
wines with medium acidity and high sugar content, used in blend with other varieties for production of Oporto wines.
