Espadeiro (Padeiro)
Variety grown in Spain, in the Galician province of Ourense and in the north of Portugal (Minho), with the name of Padeiro. Known in Spain as Caiño Redondo or Gascon. It has a pyramidal, medium-small, compact cluster and a medium, spherical berry. Vigorous vine, it has a medium budburst period. It is very susceptible to powdery mildew. Variety of average yield, it has a medium-early ripening period. It produces wines with high acidity, intense fruity bouquet. Suitable for production of red wines and wines of brief aging.
