Budburst period: medium.
Ripening period: medium-late.
Yield: rich.
Ampelographic characters:
the apex is open, with high density of laying hairs and strong anthocyanin pigmentation on the edges. The medium, orbicular leaf has five lobes and a slightly open petiolar sinus. The cluster is large and compact, if the yield is high. The medium-sized, spherical berry is hard to detach from the stem and has a thick skin, pink-gold in color.
Cultural aptitude:
vine of high vigour and semi-upright growth habit. Susceptible to lack of humidity in the soil, therefore requiring rootstocks that will well exploit the nutritional properties of the soil.
Training system and pruning:
adaptable to contained pruning systems. All buds are very productive; pruning should therefore be short, in order not to deplete the vine.
Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:
susceptible to powdery mildew.
Enological potential:
it produces straw-yellow, medium-graded, fresh, slightly aromatic and fruity wines with good acidity. Ideal for production of young wines and as a base of sparkling wines.
Clones in propagation:
Parellada: I-37, I-39, I-42.
Clones undergoing homologation procedure:
VCR495, VCR498, VCR500, VCR313.
