Ampelographic characters:
the bud has an expanded, green, hairless apex with unfolded apical leaflets of glossy-green colour with bronzed shades. The leaf is medium, pentagonal-elongated with evident lobes, smooth and slightly wavy, with a hairless flap. The petiolar sinus is open and lyre shaped. The medium-large, cylindrical-conical cluster is often elongated in shape, winged and rightly sparse. The quite large ovoid berry has a thick pulp with a slightly aromatic taste and a relatively thin and resistant yellow skin.
Training system and pruning:
it prefers expanded training systems and medium pruning.
Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions:
average susceptibility to diseases; cold-humid springs and fertile soils can cause coulure and millerandage.
Overall rating:
excellent for its precocity, for the appearance of the cluster and for the fine muscat aroma.
Clones in propagation:
Matilde VCR15: clone selected for high fertility, devoid of millerandage and excellent productivity. The thick skin and the high rate of berry detachment increase its resistance to transport and cold storage.
