Cultural aptitude:
grapevine with medium vigour and semi-upright growing habit.
Trellising and pruning:
adaptable to different trellising and pruning systems particularly to the spur systems because of the high base bud fertility.
Resistance to diseases and adverse conditions:
good resistance to downy mildew (Rpv 12) and fairly good resistance to powdery mildew. Reduced sensitivity to botrytis. Attention to black rot and Phomopsis. Excellent winter hardiness with resistance to minimal temperatures to -24°C.
Enological potential:
grapevine is able to achieve an excellent sugar accumulation with good acidity. The aromatic profile is complex with intense fruity notes that are reminiscent of the parent, Cabernet Sauvignon. Polyphenols complex of excellent quality. Suitable for production of wines requiring medium to long refinement periods also thanks to the high content of intense pigments.
