Biancolella
Biancolella is a white grape variety, native to the coast and islands of Campania, where it was probably introduced from Corsica, where it is known as Petite Blanche and whose first plants were brought there by the Greeks.

Budburst period: early.
Ripening period: medium-late.
Yield: quite good.
Ampelographic characters:
sprout with expanded apex, fluffy, green with bright red stripes. Medium-sized leaf, orbicular, trilobed, with an enlarged U-shaped petiolar sinus. Cylindrical pyramidal cluster, with short wings at the base. Medium-sized berry, spheroid, with pruinose straw-green skin. Juicy pulp with a neutral flavor.
Cultural aptitude:
vine of good vigour.
Training system and pruning:
it prefers long pruning when cultivated in fresh and fertile soils, but it can be grown in low training forms with short pruning when cultivated in drought areas.
Sensitivity to diseases and adversities:
sensitive to downy mildew, acceptable resistance to other cryptogams.
Enological potential:
it gives a straw-yellow-colored wine, with fruity scents and pleasant notes of citruses, yellow fruits and almonds, and a slightly spicy background. On the palate it has good freshness and a vein of mineral sapidity due to its volcanic origin.
