To our great satisfaction we are glad to share with you our latest achievement at the international competition PIWI Wine Award International 2023, which was held last October in Germany, for “ESmeraldo 2022“, a wine produced by Roberto Baldovin Agricultural Company located in Forni di Sotto (UD), Italy . This internationally famous event, held with the support of Executor WINE System AG, awards prizes on a yearly basis, aiming at determining the best labels produced with disease-resistant cultivars.
“ESmeraldo 2022”, scoring 98/100, is a sparkling white wine with floral and fruity aromas produced with Sauvignon Kretos, a resistant variety that was created in collaboration with the University of Udine, and is being marketed worldwide by Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo exclusively.
Once more, this major acknowledgement shows how these PIWI wines stand out for their highly valuable oenological profile, which is totally comparable, if not superior, to wines made with noble parent cultivars. This is a crucial aspect in the process of turning global viticulture into an industry more respectful of the environment and less dependent on the massive use of pesticides.
