“VCR FRANCE”, IN CALIFORNIA THROUGH “NOVAVINE”
AND IN AUSTRALIA WITH “CHALMERS NURSERIES”
By this time VCR's commercial presence regards all the vine-growing countries of the world.
Given the importance of the French market, in October 2003, in Southern France, not far from Nîmes, it was decided to establish a society called “VCR France”, with the purpose to work on that market in a direct manner, not only by selling the vines of the parent company, but also by marketing the ones produced directly on the spot.
In the U.S.A. phytosanitary barriers are such as to hinder the use of foreign plant material: As a consequence 		VCR's grafted vines, although potentially appreciated by the American vine-growers, cannot be exported to the U.S.A. The interest shown for the original VCR clones persuaded Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo to establish a new society in Santa Rosa, Sonoma Valley, California, with the purpose to produce and spread vine plants of VCR quality. Founded in 1996, Novavine has already become a supplier of the most important and prestigious local vine-growers, such as Mondavi, Gallo, Martini, Sebastiani, and others. In the meanwhile the original VCR clones have successfully completed the very strict sanitary testing procedures proscribed by U.S. quarantine and certification regulations, and are being commercialized now by Novavine.

Whereas in California the goal of Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo is to produce grafted vines in “VCR” style, in Australia in 1998 an agreement was subscribed with the most important local nursery - “Chalmers Nurseries” - with the purpose to diffuse the VCR clones. Also in this case the VCR selections were submitted to sanitary controls, that were successfully overcome.
In all the other vine-growing countries the presence of Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo is ensured by concessionary firms or by general agents that have being contributing in a decisive manner to increase the export quota up to more than the 30% of the total VCR's sales.
